We leave for Canada on Tuesday afternoon, due to meet our Harley friends in Vancouver on Friday.
For the first time, Doc and Barbs annual North American tour of compasses Canada, and to do the Rockies, BC and Alberta justice, avoiding the US completely. We intend spending a couple of days in Victoria on Vancouver Is, with the highlight being the world famous Buchart Gardens. We have been there once before as newly weds 30 plus years ago, staying with my uncles mother in law. Bruce married a Canadian beauty queen in the early 1960's and has lived in Canada since. Packing has started, piles of gear in the middle of the lounge, puss taking a keen interest in proceedings, knowing that something in us. Fortunately for Charlie, he is not being packed off for a 4 week holiday at the cattery, rather his Uncle Jeff is moving in to house and Puss sit. We'll be leaving mid winter here for the rump of the Northern Summer, and what promises to be the best of both worlds - no hardship there. Having said that, I'm at the table on our deck, enjoying the warmth of the late morning sun, much more pleasant than 3C at 5am when I went for a walk. I ended up at the boat and decided to spend a couple of hours on the water - the frost on the pier warning of slippery ice on the deck- a cold swim did not feature in my plans. So, a circumnavigation of Motuhie, breakfast in a quiet bay, before heading back to Half Moon Bay, stopping to top off the diesel tanks on the way. Comments are closed.
